Big Sur: The Edge of Creation

by Jesse Giglio

Big Sur, California
Big Sur, California

This great pacific coastline held me captive. Every turn, each daring angle, an urgency to hold what I was seeing. To somehow be a part of the fringe. Even at risk.

The edges all frayed, as if undone or unfinished. The sea aggressively surrendering to stone, stone wading curiously into the sea. Earth in a state of construction, or is it deconstruction?

Either way it is a state of majestic creation.

A beautiful, uneasy mess of creation.
